THE STORY SO FAR:

The book was a sensational hit, and by the end of 1999 the top three slots on the New York Times list of bestsellers were taken by the first three books in the Harry Potter series. By the 2000 release of the fourth book in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter had become a global pop culture phenomenon, with parents and children standing in line at bookstores waiting for the book's release, and Rowling had become one of the world's best-known authors. After the 2003 release of the fifth Harry Potter book, The Order of the Phoenix, the BBC reported that Rowling's books had been translated into 60 languages (including ancient Greek) and had sold over 250 million copies worldwide. The sixth book in the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was released in 2005. Rowling announced late in 2006 that the title of the seventh and final book in the series woud be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
THE LITTLE GIRL WHO NEVER GREW UP AND HER FANTASY WORLD:
"The fears of children are prodigious, like the inky void that opens up after dark where the closet used to be. But their most rational fear may be that of growing up, becoming another self-important soldier among the hordes of ashen-faced adults, following rules that are bereft of magic and spark"
"For all the achievements J.K. Rowling can claim, her fundamental triumph is that she never grew up. She has held onto her crackling imagination, gripped it white-knuckled through grief, divorce and welfare."

MY OWN WORDS:
For me, the reason why i feel such a great admiration for JK is that she enables to immerse herself in a fantasy world filled with wizards brandishing wands and belting out countless spells, and somehow kill all reality by creating situations otherwise impossible in our mundane world. She has used her creative imagination to produce an epic story filled with twists and turns, countless mysteries and along the way, morales and lessons learnt with much more ease than in our "muggle" world. This is because she has placed all her characters in dangerous bizzare situations, and this causes their character to be brought forth, these situations have allowed her characters to display bravery and selflessness that i hardly ever see in the real world. Not that these attributes are not present in reality, but i find that courage and determination is easier to find in storybooks than in real life.
Also, for me, storybooks have always been a form of escapism for me- A portal that opens up new possibilities and marvelous adventures in my mind. I have found myself throughly enjoying every one of her books because they envelope me in each of their stories, and i always feel as if i myself am living among wizards and magical headmasters.
Probably you can say that because i love to dream and fantasize, i love the fact that JK rowling's books allow me to immerse myself in her stories, where there are shifting staircases, talking paintings and an evil lord named Voldermort lurking outside the castle grounds. Adventure, morales, and characters come to life under her command, and i aspire to be as magical and sensational an author as her someday!
